FriendGroups turns your Friends List into a real contact manager. Sort friends into custom groups, arrange them exactly how you like, and see who's actually behind every alt on Retail and Classic alike, from a single install.

Whether you're a Raid Leader organizing rosters, a social butterfly managing contacts across realms, or just someone who wants a cleaner Friends List, FriendGroups keeps your connections sorted, personalized, and instantly accessible without weighing down your game client. The interface is zero-garbage and memory-optimized, blending seamlessly with the default WoW UI or adapting beautifully to custom skins.

🗂️ Groups, Your Way

• Custom Groups: Tag any friend with #GroupName in their note to file them into a group. Create, rename and delete them at will.
• Manual Ordering: Right-click a group header to move it up or down. Your raid team, your main guild, your closest friends, wherever you want them.
• Personalized Banners: Give any group a custom header color with a live-preview picker.

🕵️‍♂️ Know Who You're Actually Talking To

• Known Alts: A background tracker quietly maps your Battle.net friends' characters. Hover anyone in Friends List, Guild Roster, Communities for a side-panel of their recent alts, with class, level, faction, and when and where they were last seen.
• "AKA" Nameplates: Friends on an alt show their main's name right on their row [AltName] aka [MainName].
• Pin a Main: Right-click to pick someone's main from their known alts. It anchors their alt panel and drives their "aka" tag.
• Nicknames: Give any friend a personal display name that replaces their BattleTag. Nicknamed friends float to the top of their group.

🛡️ Guild Folders That Build Themselves

• Automatic Sorting: Friends in your guild are gathered into a [Guild] <GuildName> folder with zero setup, straight from the live roster.
• Custom Guild Folders: Type <GuildName> in a friend's note for ex-guildies, cross-realm teams, or anything else.
• Multi-Guild Memory: The addon remembers which alts belong to which guilds as you play, so folders stay right across all your accounts.

🔍 Search That Keeps Up

• Always-Visible Search Bar at the top of your Friends Frame.
• Searches Everything: Names, classes, zones, Rich Presence data even your friends' hidden alt characters. Hyper-optimized, so it never costs you a frame.
• Offline Tracker: Friends gone 30, 60 or 90+ days group themselves for easy list cleaning.

👥 Invites & Contact Tracking

• Mass Invites: Right-click any folder to invite the whole group, with a built-in micro-delay that protects you from Blizzard's anti-spam disconnects.
• Online Counter: A live count of how many friends are actually online, sitting as the grand total above your group counts. Hover it for a per-group breakdown and a full read on your Battle.net and character contact caps.
• Smart Copy: Grab any friend's Name-Realm or BattleTag to your clipboard in two clicks.

🤖 Automation Suite

• Auto-accept group invites, resurrections and Party Sync requests, plus auto-release spirit each with smart checks so they never fight each other.

💾 Settings Backup

• One Code, Everything: Every setting, your group order, banner colors, nicknames, chosen mains and your whole known-alts database export to a single copy/paste code. Paste it back to restore instantly.
• Your Safety Net: Perfect before a reinstall or a new PC and the easiest way to clone your exact setup onto another account. /fg export and /fg import open it directly.

🌐 Retail and Classic, One Addon

• Every flavor, same features: Retail (Midnight), Mists of Pandaria Classic, Burning Crusade Anniversary and Classic Era all run the same codebase. No cut-down Classic version.
• See who's where: Friends' game icons are gold for Retail and green for Classic, so you always know which game someone's in and invites only offer up the people you can actually play with. Realm flags come from Blizzard's own live realm data, Anniversary realms included.
• Bring your setup across: Export on Retail, import on Classic, and your groups, colors, nicknames and alt database come with you. Classic's API doesn't even know what a Demon Hunter or Evoker is, FriendGroups fills in their class and colors anyway, from what your Retail export taught it.

🛠 Settings Hub

• A compact cogwheel menu keeps Filter and Appearance toggles on the first layer for live tweaking, with List Size, Group Behavior and an Advanced section (Automation, Spirit, Alt Characters, Backup, Reset) tucked into tidy sub-menus.
• Toggle alt tracking entirely, or purge your alt and guild databases for a clean slate, whenever you like.
