About this addon
What it does
Updated and fully compatible with the latest Blizzard API changes as of 2026/03/26.
This is an updated version of the original Doom_CooldownPulse, modified specifically to remain functional with the Midnight expansion.
While the original addon by Discoteq has been a staple for many of us over the years, the recent API changes required a core code overhaul to prevent errors. I have updated the underlying logic to ensure full compatibility with the current game version.
- No Bloat: This version retains all the original features you know and love without adding unnecessary fluff.
- Legacy: You can find the original project (now deprecated) here.
What does it do?
When an ability/trinket/item becomes usable again, the addon flashes its icon in the center of your screen, giving you a clear visual cue without forcing you to stare at your action bars.

Setup and Customization
Doom_CooldownPulse Midnight is ready to use the moment you install it—no complex setup required. If you want to tweak the visuals, simply type /dcp to open the options frame.
You can easily customize the following settings with immediate results:
- Icon Size & Position: Scale the icon or unlock it to drag it anywhere on your UI.
- Timing: Adjust fade-in/fade-out speeds and how long the icon stays at max opacity.
- Animation: Control the pulse scaling (how much it grows/shrinks) and set an "early warning" animation to trigger just before the cooldown officially resets.
- Filters: Choose specific cooldowns to ignore so your screen stays clutter-free.
- Pet Support: Customize the overlay color for pet-specific cooldown pulses.
Pro Tip: Use the "Test" button in the options menu to preview your changes instantly, or hit "Defaults" if you want to start fresh.
