About this addon
What it does
This add-on allows you to mute original game sounds and add your own spell sounds.
To add your own sound files do following:
- place your sound files in add-on folder
- open SimpleSoundRaplacer_Sounds.lua with text editor and add the names of your files there.
- start wow and you can use your sound files for spells now.
Use this database https://wago.tools/files/ to find Sound IDs that you want to mute:
- use %PartOfNameOfSoundYouSearch%.ogg mask in a search line to find a right ID (example: %weather%.ogg)
Important! Muting a sound by its ID will mute the spells of all players and NPCs that use the corresponding ID. However, new sounds can only be played for spells coming from your location, as it is not possible to bind sounds to any other location in the game world: if you tried to play a sound for another player or NPC, you would hear it as if it were coming from yourself. For this reason, the addon only plays new sounds for spells cast by your character. To still hear sounds from other players and NPCs, it would probably make sense not to mute the original ones.
