Companion & Collection Manager by Rooster_Roost

PetChecker is a companion management and Battle Pet collection addon designed for players who want useful pet information without cluttering their interface.

Originally built as a pet warning utility, PetChecker has grown into a complete Companion & Collection Manager, combining class-aware companion monitoring with the returning PetDex collection, hunting, mapping, and navigation systems.

Companion Assistant

PetChecker monitors the companion systems relevant to your class and provides configurable warnings when something needs your attention.

Supported companion classes include:

• Hunters
• Warlocks
• Mages
• Death Knights

Depending on your class and WoW client, PetChecker can monitor things such as pet presence, health, status, stance, resources, and other companion-specific conditions.

Nearly everything can be individually enabled or disabled.

Customizable Pet HUD

The optional HUD gives you important companion information without requiring another unit-frame replacement.

Customize what PetChecker displays, including supported information such as:

• Pet name
• Health
• Health percentage
• Stance/status
• Class-specific companion information
• Classic-specific pet information where available

Don't want the HUD? Turn it off.

Don't want a particular field? Turn that field off.

PetChecker is designed around letting the player decide what information matters.

PetDex — BETA

PetDex has returned.

PetDex is PetChecker's Battle Pet collection and hunting system, designed to provide a Pokédex-style experience inside World of Warcraft.

Browse your Battle Pet collection and quickly identify pets you still need.

PetDex includes:

• Battle Pet browser
• Collected/uncollected filtering
• Search
• Family filtering
• Collection progress
• Wishlist
• Pet statistics
• Abilities
• Source information
• Acquisition information
• Spawn information
• Hunt controls

PetDex is currently a beta feature, and location/navigation data will continue to be refined based on testing and player reports.

Battle Pet Map Pins

For supported wild Battle Pets, PetChecker can display known spawn locations directly on the World Map.

Features include:

• Multiple known spawn locations
• Scalable map pins
• Clickable spawn locations
• Pin tooltips
• Wishlist filtering
• Custom player-discovered spawns
• Active hunt destinations

PetChecker also includes protections for older map data so unsupported legacy coordinates are not blindly displayed as completely unrelated modern locations.

GPS Pet Hunting

Select a Battle Pet and use Hunt to begin navigating toward its known spawn locations.

The PetChecker navigation system includes:

• Directional GPS arrow
• Distance tracking
• ETA information
• Click-to-track map pins
• Nearest-spawn selection
• Arrival detection
• Close-range Battle Pet detection

When you reach the expected spawn area, PetChecker can attempt to locate the actual tracked Battle Pet from visible game units and redirect navigation toward the pet itself.

Wishlist

Looking for a particular pet?

Add it to your Wishlist.

PetChecker can use Wishlist information throughout its collection and tracking systems, including optional zone alerts and map filtering.

Spawn Sharing

PetChecker includes tools for maintaining and sharing Battle Pet discoveries.

Supported tools include:

• Import
• Export
• Custom spawn recording
• Duplicate protection
• Persistent discoveries
• Spawn sharing

The goal is to let the PetDex database improve alongside the players using it.

Rooster_Roost Interface

PetChecker 4.0 introduces a redesigned interface inspired by the same visual language used throughout the Rooster_Roost addon family.

The new design features:

• Dark charcoal interface
• Steel-gray borders
• Orange accents
• Gold highlights
• Redesigned tabs
• Consistent controls
• Larger PetDex interface
• Improved readability and spacing

PetChecker is being developed as part of a larger family of Rooster_Roost addons with a recognizable shared design.

Minimap Controls

The PetChecker minimap button provides quick access to the addon without remembering slash commands.

Depending on the action/modifier, it provides access to:

• PetDex
• PetChecker settings
• Companion Ready Check
• PetDex quick controls
• Blizzard Battle Pets
• Mounts
• Toys/Collectibles
• Heirlooms

The minimap button can also be repositioned.

PetDex Does NOT Replace Your Pet Journal by Default

PetChecker does not force PetDex to replace Blizzard's normal Pet Journal.

The option:

Use PetDex instead of the Blizzard Pet Journal

is OFF by default.

Players who prefer the normal Blizzard Collections interface can continue using it while opening PetDex separately whenever they want.

Replacing the Pet Journal is completely optional.

Built for Customization

PetChecker is intended to work the way you want it to.

Warnings, HUD elements, PetDex functionality, Wishlist alerts, map overlays, navigation appearance, and other systems can be individually configured.

Use everything—or only the pieces you need.

PetDex Beta Notice

PetDex, spawn tracking, map data, and GPS navigation are actively being tested.

Battle Pet spawn information can be complicated, especially across different WoW clients and historical map-ID systems.

If you discover:

• An incorrect spawn
• A missing spawn
• A map pin in the wrong zone
• Navigation behaving incorrectly
• Incorrect Battle Pet information

please report it on the project page.

Player feedback directly helps improve the PetDex database.

to access PetChecker.

Additional controls are available through the minimap launcher and in-game interface.
