What it does
- Overview
- MouseFinder is a tiny, focused World of Warcraft addon that draws a performant, configurable circle around your mouse cursor. It was created to make the cursor easier to locate during hectic fights while remaining lightweight and addon-friendly. Note: WeakAuras will not be supported in 12.0 / Midnight, so MouseFinder provides a native, future-proof alternative.

- Installation
- Download the release for your game version.
- Extract or place the
MouseFinderfolder into your World of WarcraftInterface/AddOns/directory. - Launch the game (or run
/reloadif already logged in).
- Usage & configuration
- Open the in-game AddOns panel (Interface → AddOns) and locate MouseFinder for basic options.
- Typical configurable options include ring color, radius, thickness, and whether the circle is shown only in combat, always, or never.
- If you prefer editing files, configuration values can be adjusted in the addon's saved variables file (SavedVariables/MouseFinder.lua).
- Compatibility & requirements
- Written in Lua and designed as a standalone addon. No libraries or external dependencies required.
- Built for modern Retail builds of World of Warcraft. It may work in Classic but that configuration has not been explicitly tested — please report issues if you try it in Classic.

- Q: Why not use WeakAuras?
A: WeakAuras are powerful, but support for them is being removed in 12.0 / Midnight. MouseFinder is a minimal, always-available, native solution that avoids per-character WeakAura setup and ensures the feature continues working after the 12.0 changes. - Q: The ring is too big/small — how do I change it?
A: Adjust the radius/scale in the addon options or in the saved variables file.
