Unit Frames Toolbox

Hide Unit Frames is a simple, lightweight addon that lets you hide or show Blizzard's default unit frames—including frames that normally cannot be disabled natively. It is the perfect companion for players who use custom HUDs, WeakAuras, or nameplate-focused UIs like Plater.

• Blizzard Frame Visibility Control: Choose to hide or show any default Blizzard frame:
  • Player Frame & Cast Bar
  • Target & Target-of-Target Frames
  • Pet Frame
  • Focus Frame
  • Party, Boss, and Arena Frames
  • Compact Raid Frames
• Auto-Hide Out of Combat: Automatically hides or dims the Player Frame the moment you leave active combat.
• Dynamic Full Health Fade: Automatically hides the Player and Pet Frames when they are at maximum health. The frames instantly reappear the moment you take damage.
• Target & Instance-Based Triggers:
  • Show with Target: Instantly reveals hidden player or pet frames whenever you select a hard target or acquire a soft target.
  • Always Show in Instances: Automatically suspends all auto-hide behavior when entering dungeons, raids, delves, scenarios, or PvP arenas/battlegrounds.
• Post-Combat Delay: Selectable delay dropdown (up to 5 seconds) that keeps unit frames visible after combat ends to monitor health/mana stabilization or active absorption shields before they fade out.
• Smart UI Dependencies: Clean options menu behavior that automatically greys out and disables secondary tracking settings if their parent unit frame is set to always hide.
• Edit Mode Integration: Fully compatible with Edit Mode. Hidden frames fade slightly (to 25% opacity) during editing so you can still easily align and move them, with all visibility updates applying instantly.
• Safe & Taint-Free: Built with taint-safe tracking logic using frame alpha, completely bypassing client combat errors. Frames correctly reapply visibility configurations after reloading, zoning, or exiting Edit Mode.
• Saved Settings: All configurations persist automatically to your layout database. Includes a one-click Reset Defaults button to restore original Blizzard frames instantly.
