Fafnyir Tools for EllesmereUI

A collection of enhancements for EllesmereUI.

Fafnyir Tools is a companion addon designed to expand EllesmereUI with additional customization, quality-of-life features, and integrations while remaining completely separate from the core EllesmereUI addons.

Rather than replacing existing EllesmereUI functionality, Fafnyir Tools builds upon it with features designed to feel like a natural extension of the UI.

All settings are integrated directly into the EllesmereUI options interface under a dedicated Fafnyir Tools sidebar group.

Features

Resting Indicator

Adds an animated Blizzard-style resting indicator to the EllesmereUI Player Frame.

The familiar Zzz animation appears while your character is resting, with options to customize its size and positioning.

Right-Click Self Cast

Adds right-click self-casting support to EllesmereUI action buttons.

Right-clicking an applicable spell casts it directly on your character while leaving normal left-click behavior unchanged. This provides quick self-casting without requiring additional macros or keybinds.

XP Bar Enhancements

Expands the EllesmereUI XP Bar with additional customization and progression information.

Customize the XP bar with a smooth two-color gradient and a separate Rested XP color.

Quest XP support can also display the experience available from completed quests directly on the XP bar, making it easier to see how far your completed quests will advance your character.

Bags & Inventory

Adds account-wide inventory tracking.

As you play your characters, Fafnyir Tools maintains a local cache of their inventory information. Item tooltips can then show additional copies of an item stored across your characters and where those items are located.

Character names are displayed using their appropriate class colors for quick identification.

Aura Skins

Brings EllesmereUI-style aura presentation to Blizzard's native Target and Focus frames without requiring the EllesmereUI Unit Frames module.

Fafnyir Tools uses EllesmereUI's shared styling functionality to give Blizzard's native aura icons an appearance consistent with the rest of EllesmereUI, with additional controls for aura sizing and filtering.

EllesmereUI Unit Frames Compatibility

Aura Skins are intentionally available only when EllesmereUI Unit Frames is disabled.

When EllesmereUI Unit Frames is enabled, Fafnyir Tools leaves those frames alone, preventing both addons from attempting to control the same aura elements.

The options interface will indicate when Aura Skins are unavailable because EllesmereUI Unit Frames is loaded.

Changing the main Aura Skins setting requires a UI reload so Blizzard's aura frames can be initialized or restored correctly. Fafnyir Tools will prompt you to Reload Now or Later when necessary.

Other Aura Skin appearance settings can be changed without reloading the UI.

Persistent Pet

Adds quality-of-life improvements for maintaining the visibility and behavior of the pet interface.

Persistent Pet is available under the dedicated QoL section of Fafnyir Tools.

Device Layouts

Automatically loads your preferred Blizzard Edit Mode layout when logging in.

Each WoW installation can maintain its own preferred layout, making it easy to use different UI arrangements across desktops, laptops, or other devices.

Optional per-specialization layout overrides allow Fafnyir Tools to automatically switch layouts when changing specialization.

When a layout is loaded, a short confirmation is displayed in chat:

Native EllesmereUI Integration

Fafnyir Tools is built as an extension for EllesmereUI, not as a modification or patch to EllesmereUI itself.

It does not alter EllesmereUI's installed files. Instead, its settings are presented through a dedicated Fafnyir Toolsgroup within the EllesmereUI options interface, keeping the addon clearly separated from EllesmereUI's own Core Addons, QoL Addons, and UI Reskin Addons.

This approach allows EllesmereUI and Fafnyir Tools to be installed and updated independently.

Requirements

EllesmereUI is required.

Individual Fafnyir Tools features may interact with specific EllesmereUI components, but Fafnyir Tools remains an independent companion addon and does not modify the original EllesmereUI addon files.

Development will continue to focus on enhancements that complement EllesmereUI while keeping both addons clean, modular, and independently updateable.
