What it does
From CrestOptimizer to ClassPerformer
ClassPerformer started as a simple idea: bring external meta build data into World of Warcraft so players could check stat priorities, talents, and gear without alt-tabbing to a website. The first version focused on scraping and packaging that data for in-game use, with a dark UI inspired by modern build guides.
As the project grew, it became clear that “meta builds” and “gear planning” belong together. Players don’t just want to know what to wear — they also want to know how to upgrade it. CrestOptimizer already solved that second problem well: tracking crest currencies, item upgrade paths, and vault/crest reference tables. Rather than maintain two separate addons with overlapping goals, the optimizer was integrated into ClassPerformer as a core module of a single suite.
That shift changed the direction of the project. ClassPerformer is no longer just a build viewer — it’s an all-in-one class companion:
- Meta Builds — browse every class and spec with stat priorities, talent import strings, and recommended gear
- Optimizer — the CrestOptimizer workflow, restyled and embedded in the same window
- Tables — upgrade, vault, and crest reference data in one place
- Settings — UI scale, dark color themes (including Black & Gold), default module, minimap button, and window lock
Along the way, the UI was rebuilt for consistency: custom scrollbars, modern flat buttons, a minimap launcher, and a live theme system that applies changes instantly without a full UI reload. Packaging and distribution were aligned with the original CrestOptimizer workflow, so releases stay simple and install-ready.
In short, ClassPerformer is the evolution of two related tools into one focused product: from “check the meta” to “plan your entire character progression” — builds, gear, and upgrades in a single addon.
