About this addon

What it does

Azta'rec Helper

Azta'rec's fight is a memory game. During Sermon of Ula'tek he slams three quarters of the room at once, a few waves in a row, and the ground shows the one safe quarter each time. Then Echo of Ula'tek plays the same order back with nothing on the ground. The addon remembers the order with you and tells you where to go when the echoes come.

Recording by hand

Recording the route

Automatic recording is gone. The August 25 patch sealed the facing data it ran on and nothing survived to rebuild it with, so recording is by hand, and the addon makes that as light as it can.

While the ground still shows the safe quarter, tell the addon where you went: one press per wave on four bindable keys, a click on the quarter in the room view or /azt n, /azt e, /azt s and /azt w for macros. Answers land in order, so a missed wave is caught up by your next press, right up until its own echo plays. The Answer keys switch can turn the keys into relative turns instead, north for straight through the boss, east and west for your right and left as you face him, with the first wave still naming its quarter.

The echoes

The room view lights the quarter you are due in green and the next one yellow, the rest red, with the in-game map behind it if you like. A small countdown window says which wave is up and what comes after it, and counts the seconds down.

The arrow gives the move for each echo, read as if you face the boss in the middle: up is through him, left and right are yours and down is stay.

A voice can call the moves too. The recorded voice says forward, left, right or stay as if you face the boss. The Markers cue voice has the game's text to speech name the safe quarter's marker instead, star, square and so on, with no facing in it, and Colors says yellow, blue, green and orange. You pick the voice and the volume in the settings, with a test button for each.

A wave you never answered stays unknown, on the room view and through its echo. The addon never guesses.

Solo route board in the settings puts the followers' route strip up for your own recording. It fills as the waves get answered and steps through the echoes with the current safe spot big on the left.

The compass cross

Four thin lines out of your character, right across the screen, one per quarter. They turn with you off the minimap compass, so each line keeps pointing where its quarter really is however you spin, and each wears its quarter's marker color. When a call says square, the blue line is the way, whichever way you happen to face.

The cross turning

It runs on a rotating minimap, so the addon turns yours on while you are in the delve and puts it back when you leave. A switch shows the cross for the whole delve or only through the Sermon and its echoes, and sliders move the crossing onto your character and cut a gap over them so they stay visible. The game seals the angle the lines turn by, the addon draws it without ever reading it, so recording stays by hand.

Party play

When you lead, you record from four macros the addon writes for your bars (the Write macros button under Party in the settings), and each press calls its quarter in party chat as it answers the wave. When someone else leads, Follower mode reads their calls and puts their route on a board of your own, stepped to the next safe spot as the echoes run. The calls are bare numbers, so keep party chat quiet during the Sermon and the echoes or stray lines land on the boards. A leader can call directions instead of markers, then the board draws arrows, the addon reads each one out loud as its wave comes up, and party members without the addon can read the chat and still know where to run. The addon asks you about your role once when you group up.

Caller's route

Between pulls

/azt review says what the last pull recorded and, if you died, which echo got you. /azt replay runs the route through the display on its real timings. /azt practice, or the button in the settings, runs a pretend sermon on the room view, seven random waves you answer like a real pull, then the echoes play back what you recorded and it tells you how many you got right. Good for arranging your layout before ever pulling.

The windows

The quarters wear world markers rather than compass letters, star, square, triangle and circle from north clockwise, so /wm 5, /wm 1, /wm 2 and /wm 6 drop the matching markers in the room. The markers name the quarters everywhere, and clicking one out of combat changes it. The same menu can swap all four for direction arrows.

Every window drags where you want it, remembers the spot and has a size slider of its own in the settings. A padlock in the corner locks a window in place and lets clicks through. The room view comes cut down to the room itself with Opts, Info and News buttons in its corners, Info for the instructions and News for what the latest version changed. Set it to Full in the settings for the wider view.

Fabled Let Me Solo Him

Going for Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Azta'rec? That one wants him dead on Tier ?? with nobody else in your party, inside the first week of Midnight Season 2. Tier ?? runs up to seven waves in a phase, which is where solo attempts usually end, and remembering that sequence is the one thing this addon does.

Commands

Everything below is in the settings panel too. The commands are for typing and macros. The panel opens with /azt options, from the Opts button on the room view or from the addon compartment by the minimap, and the quarter keys bind right in it.

  • /azt options opens the settings panel
  • /azt room toggles the room view (it auto-shows in the delve)
  • /azt cross toggles the compass cross
  • /azt n, /azt e, /azt s, /azt w answer the earliest open wave with that quarter
  • /azt turns switches the keys between quarters and relative turns
  • /azt replay replays the last recorded route
  • /azt practice runs the pretend sermon drill
  • /azt review shows what the last pull recorded and where you died
  • /azt cue toggles the spoken cues
  • /azt call toggles calling the route for your party while you lead
  • /azt follow toggles following the leader's calls
  • /azt reset clears the recorded route
  • /azt map toggles the map art backdrop
  • /azt help opens the instructions
  • /azt anywhere treats where you stand as the boss room, in case a patch moves the delve and the addon stops recognizing it

Notes

All the timings were measured by hand on the PTR. If you die mid-recording the next Sermon starts fresh, the room view clears when the pull ends, and /azt review tells you what went wrong.

If you've seen another addon do this, the idea started here. The recording and the room view were measured and built in mid-July 2026 and went public in this addon on July 25.
