AEmotes – Classic Sound Emotes Addon

AEmotes is a legacy World of Warcraft addon originally created by DrArkaneX in 2008. The addon has been revived and modernized thanks to Holyfrey on Mirage Raceway EU, and Classic on Thunderstrike - EU Alliance, bringing this classic community favorite back to life for modern World of Warcraft versions.

What does this addon do?

AEmotes allows you to play fun and expressive sound emotes that can be heard by nearby players who also have the addon installed. These sounds can be used to enhance social interaction with friends, guild members, or anyone around you in-game.

Unlike the original 2008 version, this updated release includes a curated set of built-in sounds to get you started immediately.

New Feature: AEmote Selector Menu

An AEmote Selector Menu has been added in-game, allowing you to use AEmotes without manually typing slash commands each time. All available AEmotes can now be accessed directly through a convenient menu interface.

To enable the menu and display the button, use the following slash command:

/uiae

The addon has been updated to support the latest Classic and Retail versions of World of Warcraft.

Anyone nearby who has the addon installed will hear the sound when it is played.

These commands can also be placed into macros and assigned to action bars.

Additional Sound Packs

AEmotes supports external sound packs, allowing you to easily expand your sound library. Many older sound packs from the original 2008 addon are still available on CurseForge, and new packs can be added without difficulty.
